My Story
My name is Sumrit S Buttar, currently enrolled in MHST, Athasbasca University.
I am an ethnic Indian, who was born in USA, raised in Hong Kong and completed my undergraduate degree in Vancouver, Canada. I am currently an owner of numerous F&B startups in Hong Kong and Canada.

I am also aspired to be a professor specifies in immigrant and refugee health. Currently, my focus is on South Asian Health, as it is the fastest growing minority group as well as most affected by chronic diseases, such as CVD, Cancer, Diabetes II.
I have experience of working with immigrants and refugees around the world. In the coming years, I hope to contribute to health and wellness, and advocate health equity across all ethnic groups.

By the end of the MSHT graduate program, I hope to research and specialise in cultural-competency training for global health workforce, especially in North America.
